A few years ago, our son was diagnosed with celiac disease.
In an instant, things that used to be simple became something to check, research, and plan ahead. School lunches, birthdays, restaurants, family vacations, even grocery shopping — everything took on new meaning.
Beyond the challenge itself, we discovered another problem: it's hard to find diverse, reliable, and accessible recipes in one place that work for people with celiac disease, allergies, and food sensitivities.
That's where pashutFree was born.
How It All Started
When our son was diagnosed with celiac disease, we quickly realized that managing it goes far beyond avoiding gluten.
We learned to read labels differently. We reorganized our kitchen to minimize cross-contamination risks. We checked restaurants before every family outing. We planned vacations around available culinary options. Even simple events like a classroom birthday party or dinner at a friend's house required advance thought.
Like many other families, we found ourselves constantly searching for information, recipe ideas, and solutions that fit our new reality.
We didn't want to give up good food, new flavors, or our culinary curiosity. We wanted to find a way to enjoy diverse, safer food — without living with a constant sense of deprivation.
Why We Built pashutFree
pashutFree was founded out of a real need from a real family.
We wanted to create one place that brings together recipes from different countries and cultures, alongside information, guides, and tools that can help families dealing with celiac disease, allergies, and food sensitivities.
Our goal is to make it easy for anyone to find new cooking ideas, discover new ingredients, and realize that you can enjoy cuisines from all over the world even with dietary restrictions.
What started as a personal project for our family gradually became a recipe and knowledge base that we hope will help others too.
